This vintage 'Woodland' salad plate from Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall) Ltd. is a fine example of mid-20th-century Staffordshire blue transferware. It features a central pastoral scene of three figures beneath a large tree, one tying a bundle of straw or hay while two others stand nearby. In the distance, the freshly cut field is dotted with upright stooks drying in the sun.
Decorated using genuine hand engraving underglaze, the cobalt blue remains striking against the creamy ironstone body, making this plate equally suited for serving or display.
