A small English wall cameo of a lady in profile, her hair dressed high, with a cluster of flowers at the shoulder. The white relief sits on a dark ground inside a gilt-metal frame with a hanging ring, made to hang alone or with the other Peter Bates cameos.

It comes from the Miniature World of Peter Bates, the late-20th-century English workshop that produced a series of these framed reliefs.

Dimensions

- Diameter: 7.6 cm

3. About the Maker
- Peter Bates worked under the name The Miniature World of Peter Bates, associated with Titchfield, Hampshire.
- The firm’s small hanging pictures, cameos and silhouettes, date broadly to the later 20th century, about 1970 to 1999. A narrower date is not recorded.

4. Uses & Versatility
- Hung singly, or with the boy and girl and the Mona Lisa from the same workshop.
- Light enough for a picture rail, a narrow wall, or a grouping above a console.

5. Care
- Dust the frame with a soft cloth.
- Do not immerse.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners on the gilt rim and the dome.
