A small English wall cameo of the Mona Lisa, her hands folded on the chair rail, the landscape worked in low relief behind her. The white figure sits on a dark ground inside a gilt-metal frame with a hanging ring, made to hang alone or with the other Peter Bates cameos.
It comes from the Miniature World of Peter Bates Ltd, Titchfield, Hampshire, a late-20th-century workshop that produced a series of these framed reliefs.
