An exceptional, mid-century Royal Albert bone china coffee pot in the highly collectible Chelsea Bird pattern. First registered in 1941 (Reg. No. 839184), this design features a vibrant, exotic fantasy bird vignette framed by full floral sprays and a distinctive turquoise and gold scroll border.

Crafted in the stately Gainsborough shape, the piece is characterised by its high, pedestal footed base, elegant S-scroll handle with a moulded thumb rest, and a beautifully balanced, sweeping spout.

As a rare serving piece, it serves as a magnificent anchor for an existing collection or a standalone statement on a curated teatime table.

Dimensions

- Capacity: approximately 500 ml
- Height: 18.8 cm
- Length (spout to handle): 16.2 cm

Condition

- Excellent - The piece presents beautifully with excellent structural integrity and highly vibrant detailing.

Structural Defects: There are no hairline cracks, chips, fleabites, or restorations to either the body or the lid.

Glaze & Surface: The glaze is bright, clear, and smooth, completely free from vintage crazing or dulling. The transfer print remains crisp with no visible scratches or fading to the Chelsea Bird motif.

Gilding: Exceptional. The 22-karat gold trim along the fluted spout, the S-scroll handle, the lid rim, and the pedestal base shows virtually no signs of historical wear or rubbing.

Interior: Clean and pristine. The interior of the pot and the inside of the spout show no tea, coffee, or mineral staining, indicating minimal historical use.

Base & Backstamp: The unglazed foot ring shows only negligible shelf wear. The brown Royal Albert backstamp and pink pattern name script are perfectly legible and sharply struck on the underbase.

- The upper rim, lid, and shoulder are accented with a rich turquoise border overlaid with elaborate gilded scrollwork.
- The Gainsborough shape provides a dramatic silhouette, lifting the body of the pot on a flared pedestal base that balances the elongated, fluted spout.

2. Craftsmanship

- The porcelain is remarkably lightweight yet durable, possessing the characteristic translucent quality of premium bone china.
- The elaborate gold detailing along the handle contours, spout moulding, and base is meticulously applied, framing the transfer-printed pattern with brilliant definition.

3. Uses & Versatility

4. Care Instructions
- To preserve the pristine condition of the vintage porcelain and the integrity of the gold gilding, this piece requires hand washing only.
- Use a mild dishwashing liquid, a soft sponge, and warm water; avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleansers.
- This item is not suitable for microwave or dishwasher use, as modern cycles can dull the metallic accents and glaze over time.
