Condition

- Excellent - These items are in excellent vintage condition with the enamel illustrations remaining bright and intact.
- Please note that one spoon shows faint rubbing (plate loss) on the side of the bowl, where the base metal is slightly visible beneath the silver plating. This is a common characteristic of vintage plated flatware and does not detract from the overall character of the set.

Special Characteristics

1. Design & Features
- The set is a study in mid-century botanical illustration, featuring a fiddle-back handle silhouette that provides a comfortable grip.
- The focal point of each piece is the teardrop-shaped enamel insert, protected by a clear glaze that gives the floral portraits a porcelain-like finish.
- The contrast between the bright, polished silver plating and the vivid primary colours of the petals makes each spoon a small work of art.

2. Craftsmanship
- Produced in Japan, a region renowned for high-quality export cutlery in the 1960s and 70s, these spoons demonstrate a clever "mixed-metal" construction.
- The shanks are crafted from durable stainless steel to prevent bending, while the bowls and decorative terminals are silver-plated for a traditional aesthetic.
- The botanical names are deeply etched into the reverse of the handles, ensuring the identification of the species remains legible for generations.

3. Uses & Versatility
While designed as traditional teaspoons, their slender profile and refined proportions make them versatile for various hosting duties:
- The Tea Table: The ideal companion for a tiered cake stand, used for stirring tea or serving individual portions of clotted cream and jam.
- Dessert Service: Their delicate size is perfect for enjoying rich mousses, parfaits, or fruit compotes.
- Giftware: A thoughtful gift for a gardener, a lover of botanical art, or anyone with a nostalgic connection to Hong Kong’s natural heritage.
