Create an enchanting atmosphere at your next gathering with this exquisite set of eight hand-painted porcelain place card holders. Each piece features a meticulously crafted wildflower—including pansies, primroses, and wild roses—nestled between two vibrant green leaves.

They serve as the perfect anchor for hand-calligraphed name cards, providing a layer of thoughtful detail for a formal dinner or a classic afternoon tea.

Dimensions

- Height: Approximately 3 cm
- Length (side to side): 3.8 cm
- Width: 3.5 cm

Condition

- Very Good - This set has been remarkably well-preserved.

There are no structural cracks or major repairs to the porcelain bodies.

Petal Integrity: Upon close inspection, the delicate hand-shaped petals remain largely intact. As is characteristic of vintage porcelain florals of this age (circa 1950s), there may be infinitesimal "flea bites" (on the yellow flower) or microscopic nicks to the sharpest edges of the petals, which are only visible under high magnification and do not detract from the beauty or function of the pieces.

Glaze & Colour: The hand-painted pigments remain vibrant with no significant fading. The glaze retains a high-gloss luster across all eight pieces.

Crazing: The pieces do display signs of crazing.

Base: The blue felt pads on the underside are original and secure, showing only light surface wear consistent with age.

Presentation: The set is housed in its original black presentation box. The box shows some vintage character and light shelf wear, but remains structurally sound and serves as excellent protection for the collection.

Additional Information

1. Design & Features
- The Florals: This set includes eight unique botanical designs, capturing the delicate textures and soft pastels of a traditional English garden.
- Functional Detail: The upright leaves are designed to securely hold a hand-calligraphed card, keeping your seating arrangements organised and elegant.
- Surface Care: Each holder is finished with a blue felt base to prevent scratching on polished mahogany or delicate linens.

2. Craftsmanship
- Heritage: Hand-painted in England (attributed to Coalport or Aynsley), these pieces represent the peak of post-war bone china production.
- Artistry: Every petal is individually shaped and painted, ensuring no two flowers are exactly alike.

3. Uses & Versatility
- Afternoon Tea: These are the ideal accompaniment for a tiered cake stand and vintage teacups, providing a structured yet decorative element to the table.
- Formal Dining: Use them for dinner parties to display guest names, or repurposed to label a selection of cheeses or desserts on a buffet.
- Curation: Beyond the table, these miniature sculptures work beautifully as small accents in a china cabinet or as part of a seasonal mantel display.
