1. About Keraluc:
- While often associated with Quimper pottery, Keraluc was an independent faience workshop, founded in 1946 by Victor Lucas, an engineer and ceramics expert who had previously worked with the famous HB and Henriot factories in Quimper.
- Unlike the traditional Quimper faience factories, which focused on classic Breton folk motifs, Keraluc sought to blend artistic freedom with regional craftsmanship, encouraging contemporary artists to explore modern interpretations of traditional faience.
- Throughout the mid-20th century, Keraluc became a hub for creativity, collaborating with notable French artists like Paul Yvain, Pierre Toulhoat, René Quéré, and Xavier Krebs.
- While its roots were deeply connected to Quimper’s ceramic heritage, Keraluc’s designs often featured more stylised patterns, abstract compositions, and vibrant colour palettes that set it apart from the more familiar Quimper pottery.
- In 1984, the Keraluc factory closed, and its designs were later acquired by HB-Henriot, further cementing its place in Quimper's long ceramic tradition.

- Its size and bold design make it a perfect focal point for a gallery wall or an accent piece in a kitchen or dining area.

4. Front Design:
- The plate features an exquisite hand-painted floral motif at its centre.
- A vibrant blue flower takes pride of place, surrounded by delicate pink blossoms accented by green leaves.
- The artistry is further enhanced by the soft pink foliate border, which elegantly frames the gently scalloped edge.
- The subtle variations in brushstrokes and shading reflect the artisan’s skill and the individuality of this handcrafted piece.
- A charming addition is the small handwritten detail on one of the green leaves, adding a personal and authentic touch to the design.
